We at AdventuresAroundGlobe recognize that plans can change, and we offer straightforward and understandable refund guidelines. This document details the refund process for our yacht rental services.
It is important to review this policy thoroughly before booking a service. By reserving a yacht with AdventuresAroundGlobe, you are accepting these terms for refunds.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Full refund excluding service charges
Processing Time: 5-7 business days
Processing Fee: €50 for credit card payments
Conditions: Must be formally requested either by email or telephone contact
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Half the total cost of the charter
Processing Time: 7-10 business days
Processing Fee: €25 deducted from the refund amount
Conditions: A valid reason is required; administrative charges applicable
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: No refunds offered
Exception: Emergency situations may be taken into consideration
Alternative: A voucher for the charter could be provided at the discretion of the management
Conditions: Evidence is required for emergency cases
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
Your safety is our utmost concern. In cases where weather conditions are considered dangerous for sailing by our certified captain, we present flexible alternatives:
- Full Refund: Offered when rescheduling is not an option
- Reschedule: We will arrange for your charter to be moved to the next available slot without extra charges
- Charter Credit: Issuance of a voucher valid for one year from the initial charter date
Weather Assessment Process
We take the following into consideration for our weather assessments:
- Analysis of wind speed and direction
- Sea conditions inclusive of wave height
- Forecast of visibility and precipitation
- Advisories and warnings from the Coast Guard
- Evaluation of safety by a professional captain
Decision Timeline: Decisions regarding weather cancellations are made at most 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Emergency Circumstances
We are sympathetic to the fact that medical emergencies can arise unexpectedly. The following scenarios may qualify for special consideration:
- Sudden medical incidents or injuries leading to hospitalization
- Loss of an immediate family member
- Urgent military assignments or recall
- Summoned for jury duty or a court order
- Natural calamities impacting travel
Documentation Requirements
Please provide the following documents to process emergency refund requests:
- A medical certificate or documentation from a hospital
- A death certificate, where applicable
- Orders from the military, if relevant
- A court subpoena or notification for jury duty
- Emergency declarations or travel advisories
Processing: Refunds due to emergencies are managed within 3-5 business days after receiving the necessary documentation.
Operational Cancellations
Mechanical Issues
In the event where the designated vessel encounters mechanical failures that cannot be fixed:
- Alternative Vessel: We'll try to arrange a similar substitute
- Full Refund: If a comparable substitute is not available
- Partial Refund: If the replacement vessel has a different cost
- Compensation: Additional remuneration may be offered to make up for the inconvenience
Crew Unavailability
In the rare cases where a qualified crew is not available:
- We'll try to arrange alternative staff if possible
- A complete refund if the yacht rental cannot go ahead
- Options to reschedule without additional expenses
Refund Processing
Payment Method
The method for processing refunds will be the same as the original method of payment:
- Credit Cards: Generally takes 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: Takes around 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: Typically 3-5 business days
Processing Fees
Credit Card Processing
There's a €50 fee for cancellations done over 72 hours prior
Bank Transfer Processing
A €25 fee applies for all refunds via bank transfers
International Processing
Additional charges may be applicable for transactions across borders
Charter Credits
When Credits Are Offered
In some situations, instead of refunds, we may offer credits for yacht charters:
- For cancellations made less than 24 hours before the charter
- Due to cancellations relating to weather
- For voluntary changes requested by the customer
- Amidst operational disruptions
Credit Terms
- Validity: Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue
- Transferability: Credits cannot be transferred to other individuals
- Value: Credits cover the full cost of the charter without any service fees
- Usage: Credits can be used for any future charters subject to availability
- Expiration: Credits expire after a year and cannot be extended
Partial Service Refunds
Service Interruptions
If your charter experience gets disrupted or cut short due to issues that are within our control:
- A refund proportionate to the unused portion
- Credit towards a future charter of equal price
- Free additional services or upgrades
Guest-Related Interruptions
If early termination of a charter happens due to the behavior of guests or breach of safety guidelines:
- No reimbursement for the unutilized duration
- Full payment will still be required
- There may be extra charges as well
Dispute Resolution
Should you disagree with a decision made in regards to a refund, you can:
- Ask for an assessment by our administrative team
- Put forward additional proof or documentation
- Consider approaching consumer protection bodies
- Explore any legal alternatives according to the law

- Confirmation code for your booking
- Date and time of the yacht reservation
- Explanation for cancellation
- Any necessary supporting documents
- Your preferred method for receiving the refund
Step 3: Review and Processing
After acknowledging your request within one day, our team will assess it according to our policy, decide within two days, and initiate refunds within the specified periods.
Important Notes
- All requests for refunds have to be made in writing
- Refunds will be made in €, regardless of the currency used initially
- It's recommended to have travel insurance
- This policy can be altered, given a 30-day notice
- Refunds will adhere to relevant tax laws and regulations
